Conversations about materiality, technology, and integration of more hospitality-focused configurations drove the initial design concept for a more elevated talent and user experience. Natural wood finishes punctuated by premium hardware finishes, modern appliances, intuitive technology, and modern lighting solutions throughout helped to promote a premium, high-end user experience. There was no room left unfinished with high-end finishes, materials, accessories, furniture, and art.

The sophisticated California design style blurs the line between home and office. The office plan was reconfigured to promote both open spaces and private touch-down areas. Inviting living spaces include comfy lounge chairs and sofas outfitted with plush premium upholstery and accented with touches of home. Strategically placed accessories speak to a domestic environment, blurring the lines between work and home – a response to the global climate and practice of flexible work environments. Private offices are bordered along the perimeter exterior walls connecting the team with views of the Pacific Ocean. In another design move, cultivating the relationship between indoor/outdoor spaces, natural light abounds as an 800 square foot faux patio/conservatory space was created utilizing a cleverly angled floor plan, metal/glass sliding walls, and outfitted with plants and select lighting. Once the patio door is closed, the space becomes a multi-functional space for meetings and serendipitous encounters.

A concentrated focus was spent on the detailing and finishing of the office boardroom. A custom fixed 12-foot by 20-foot u-shaped conference table was designed to provide unparalleled sight lines and versatile seating options for extra flexibility allowing participants to see and be seen. Finished in a wood veneer and a black marble top, it becomes the design-defining moment of the project offering a special experience for the company’s executive team.

The executive office is situated in the thriving “Silicon Beach” straddling the areas of El Segundo and Manhattan Beach, CA. This positions Kinecta in an authentically California landscape which the office celebrates and pays homage to by adorning an entry wall with a collage of images showcasing numerous charitable events from its storied past and multiple collaboration with the surrounding communities. Stepping back from the 10-foot by 20-foot collage wall, a Hughes H-4 Hercules plane is revealed as a tribute to the company’s history with the Howard Hughes Aircraft Company. The plane was intended as a transatlantic flight transport for use during World War II and now becomes a symbol for Kinecta’s future as an innovator for a new way of banking.
