Shaping the Future of How We Work

The modern workplace isn’t just about where people work—it’s about why they come back. At Worksmart, we’re leading with design that puts people and purpose at the center. Even if that means embracing Home in the Office (and vice-versa).

Came to HD Expo + Conference 2025 with one mission: make the office feel more like home—and wow, did the vibes deliver. Think plush textiles, furniture you actually want to sit in, and warm, welcoming color palettes that make you forget you're even at work.

Our Senior Designer Fiona Chan takes you on a quick spin through her favorite finds from the show floor. Press play, get comfy, and see what’s inspiring our next wave of workplace design.

In Southern California, the workplace is increasingly blurring the line between work and home. With our temperate climate and indoor-outdoor lifestyle, offices in Los Angeles are embracing amenities that feel more residential—think cozy lounges, open-air patios, café-style kitchens, and wellness spaces. As companies navigate return-to-office (RTO) mandates, designers and builders are reimagining spaces to entice people back with environments that prioritize comfort, connection, and flexibility.

“People aren’t just coming back to the office for a desk—they’re coming back for purpose, connection, and support,” says Mandy Adams, Design Director at Worksmart. “Today’s workplace has to do more than house employees; it needs to foster collaboration, enable focus, and prioritize well-being. We’re designing environments that respond to the full spectrum of human needs—professional and personal—because that’s what helps teams truly thrive.” In L.A., that means natural light, plant life, fresh air, and an emphasis on hospitality design.

The result? Workspaces that inspire—built with intention by those shaping the future of where and how we work.
